Red Strings

This is pretty much the first complex photomanipulation that I have done. I made this for 's contest [link] The theme is Dark+Weather, and this is about as dark as I could come up with.

The idea behind this image came from the mythology of the Red String of Fate, where soulmates are connected by the invisible red string. I also read somewhere that a person can be connected to multiple red strings, but that does not mean that they are all soulmates. Sometimes the red string connects you to other important people in your life including your soulmate. So in this photo the woman is rather distraught because she is being pulled in 10 different directions by the red strings. She has become entangled in them and is uncertain as to which one connects her to her soulmate.
